You are confusing the 1st and 4th columns of the page. The 1st column refers to the general flow of the text book, which hopefully most of you have mastered to a great extent. The 4th column refers to the actual hw assignments, which may deviate from the text book from time to time.
I think you are talking about the spreadsheet download(???). This is not mandatory... I was trying to show you this when my smartboard computer "died" at the end of class on Weds... sorry for any confusion.
