  1. Were we supposed to use the reason banks and recheck or answers?

  2. Yup! You don't have to use the "special paper" but you DO NEED TO provide a REASON for EVERY STEP and CHECK YOUR ANSWERS!!

  3. is there a property that we need to put if we change subtraction to addition by having the opposite value?
    i.e 4-2 into 4+(-2)

  4. Excellent question! Yes, you MUST ALWAYS provide a reason... in this case, we will let this one fall into the general category of "Simplify/Add the opposite" (you can just write "Simplify"), since the math gods allow us to re-write subtraction as addition by simply adding the opposite. The same goes for changing addition-to-subtraction, mult-to-div and div-to-mult (of course the mult/div switche-rooskies are due to reciprocals, not opposites, but it's the same basic concept).

And yes, we need to get "switche-roosky" on the Word Wall.

  5. so for every step we need a reason?

  6. Yup! When you're solving, that is. For the CHECK steps (DON'T FORGET THE CHECK STEPS!!!!!), just do the math step-by-step... you are simplifying as you go, so you don't need to write that each time.
