Jamie asked...
ReplyDeleteWhat quadrant is a number in if it is on an axis?
Good question, Jamie. If a point (aka an ordered pair or coordinate pair) is on an axes it is NOT in a quadrant... it's that simple.
what the quiz on.just like graphing and did jamie really ask that or are you like just saying that?
ReplyDeleteDo we have to do ALL of this stuff? It seems like a LOT of work.

ReplyDeleteoh thank goodness. the other stuff was what was on mathchamber
ReplyDeleteThis isnt a question relating to this packet, but i didn't no where else to put it. what is the answer to: 7(1-y) + 4y = -3(y + 2) ?
ReplyDeleteWhen i did it, the answer came out to zero, you heard right: x=0. Is this correct, would I state it as undefined? Help, thank you.
Well, in a problem that uses 'y' as a variable, the solution would be stated as 'y=' not 'x='
ReplyDeletebut aside from that:
x=0 or y=0 would be perfectly reasonable solutions, zero is a perfectly good number!
However, when I worked out the problem you stated, I got an answer of y=13/8
... so unless there is a typo of some kind or I made a mistake, I don't know how you got an answer of zero.
