Even if you don't have questions on this, I'd like to hear you chime in with an observation or two.
Try the "Complete the Square" technique on a quadratic that is factor-able, such as:
y = x^2 + 5x + 6
Obviously, the best way to do this problem is to factor it (because factoring is FUN & EASY, right?) but I'd like for you to see that "Complete the Square" will always work. After next class, you will see that the Quadratic Formula (aka "The Quadranator") always works as well. I expect at this point you are beginning to understand how to look at quadratic equations with an arsenal of algebraic tools at your disposal.
