Yes, the end of the year upon us, a time to anticipate freedom, celebrate new beginnings, and be crushed by the mind-numbing realization that you will be in a math class with Mr. Chamberlain again next year!

i saw a comment about jamie talking about ec. does that stand for extra credit? and what is it?
ReplyDeletesee the previous blog post "Let's Get Rational" for ec
ReplyDelete#23 is troublesome
ReplyDeletethe shading equations are hard yo
For #23 (pg 504?), you are simply looking for 2 numbers that have a product of -63 and a sum of -2. 63 doesn;t have a lot of factors yo.
ReplyDeleteFor the inequalities, do you remember TEST POINTS??
Hi, Mr. Chamberlain.
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering what the method to solving quadratic equation without a "b" term was called. Thanks
Dear Napoleon! I haven't seen you since the revolution! How are things? I see you're keeping up with your Algebra, like any good military strategist!
ReplyDeleteSolving quadratics without a b-term is often simply called "Square Rooting"... or as your friend Emily says, de-squaring. I don't care what you call it... just that you can do it.
Examples:
x^2 - 49 = 0
x^2 = 49
x= +/- 7
x^2 - 5 = 0
x^2 = 5
x = +/- radical 5
x^2 + 25 = 0
x^2 = -25
no real solution (cannot take the square root of a negative number)
Bon Jour,
Mr. C.
sec.1 p. 30 what is a percent error and how do you calculate it?
